My family and I sat around to discuss a way of creating the best home security. About every two weeks we gather at the big table after dinner and my mom and dad sit my sister and I down to make decisions with them. They think that it will teach us responsibility and I have to say that I think it's rubbing off a bit. I do feel smarter than most of my friends who are in the dark about this. Most of their parents don't bother to explain anything about what it's going to take to run a household someday. Sometimes I feel my parents are able to teach me more about the real world and what to do in the real world than I would learn in school. I asked my friends if they knew about some of the topics my parents talk about and they said their parents never involve them in the decisions when it comes to the house or finances. I think some of them are a little bit jealous that my parents are so cool! Aside from teaching us what it takes to run a house my dad started showing me how the stock market works. I think it's pretty neat. Some people in their twenties and thirties don't even know how all of this stuff works!
