LOOK-ALIKE
We just went on a school trip to visit the senior living in Atlanta Coventry. It was really nice and I met one of my grandmother’s old friends. I have never known my grandma. My mom never likes to talk about her. So finally I had my chance to learn all about her and know what a special person she was. Let me start from the beginning: as I walked into this old age home it made me very depressed to see so many people looking very sad. I wanted to cheer them up so my friends and I sang for them and played their piano. I noticed one woman was always glancing over at me and smiling. She had to be in her late 80’s and she was very thin and fragile looking. Her thick gray hair was tied into a tight knot high above her head, and finally at the end of one of our songs she motioned for me to come over to her. I hesitantly went and I did not know what to expect. I was kind of scared of her actually. She held my hand and tears welled up in her small blue eyes. She asked me if I was a Brandon (my last name), and I told her yes and asked her how she knew. She said that I am a carbon copy of my grandmother and that she knew her very well. I stayed with this lady many hours after my school already left, and that was how I finally got to know how great of a person my grandmother really was.
