When my friend and her husband, during their drive to California for the job he accepted, stopped at a service station to have someone take a look at their U-haul to see why it was making a very funny noise, the attendant had to first call the mechanic to come in. When he finally arrived and took a look under the hood of the truck, he told them he could fix whatever was wrong but he didn’t have the part.  And, it would take a couple of days for it to be delivered.  He jokingly asked if they knew any truck accident attorneys.  He said they could take a chance and drive it, but if it was him, he would just wait for that part.  He wouldn’t want to end up in a ditch someplace, because that is what would eventually happen if they didn’t get the truck fixed.  They were doomed to wait, until my friend’s brother asked how far he would have go to pick up the part and bring it back.
